Union Splits with Syracuse

The Union College women's ice hockey team split a weekend series with Syracuse after a 5-3 loss to the Orange on Saturday, Oct. 22.

In the second game of the series Syacuse's Christina LaCombe and Caitlin Roach scored their first collegiate goals and Union's Emilie Arseneault tallied two goals and an assist for a three point night, while senior Lauren Cromartie had her first goal of the season and an assist.

With less than one minute left in regulation, SU took its first lead of the game when Roach took a shot from above the left faceoff dot that went past the goalie and put Syracuse up 4-3. Union pulled Marcinko and Syracuse's Margot Scharfe scored the empty netter.

Syracuse faces the University of Connecticut at home this weekend and Union takes on Princeton on Friday (Oct. 28)  and Quinnipiac on Saturday (Oct. 29)  in a two-game home stand.
