Buffalo's Minnick Receives ECAC Honors

Buffalo State’s Jeyna Minnick (Rochester/Greece-Arcadia) was named the ECAC West Women’s Hockey Rookie of the Week after scoring four goals during a three games in three days stretch over the weekend.

Minnick led the Bengals to a 2-0-1 record. The freshman English education major netted both goals for Buffalo State in a 2-2 tie with Plymouth State, adding a goal in the following day's 3-0 win over the Panthers. She scored another in a 4-3 win over Castleton.  Minnick is second on the Bengals with seven goals through 13 games.

Christine Williams (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) was also recognized on the weekly honor roll with five points in the three games.  After assisting on both goals of a 2-2 tie against Plymouth State, the senior history major had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over the Panthers the following day. Williams then netted the game-winner in a 4-3 win at Castleton.  She leads the team with 12 goals and 17 points.

Buffalo State (6-5-2/3-4-1) will take an extended break for the holidays and return to action on Dec. 13 with a non-conference home contest against Trinity.
