Rensselaer Men's Hockey Team Gets TV Time

For the fifth straight year, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s hockey team will have home games from the Houston Field House produced and broadcast live on Time Warner Cable Sports. TWCS will air three home games as well as three Engineers’ road games.


The first game televised is a week from Friday, November 11, when the Engineers host Yale University on Black Friday at 7pm. The other home games slated for broadcast are January 28 against Clarkson University and February 4 vs. Colgate University – the 35th Annual Big Red Freakout! presented by Bank of America.

The road games to be shown live on Time Warner Cable Sports are November 25 at Rochester Institute of TechnologyJanuary 14 at Union Collegeand February 24 at Colgate.

Five of the six games are ECAC Hockey contests and five of the six will be shown on channel 3, The game at RIT is a non-league game, while the Freakout! will be aired on channel 1. All six games are scheduled to begin at 7pm.

The complete schedule is:
  • Friday, November 11: Rensselaer vs. Yale at 7pm (Black Friday)
  • Friday, November 25: Rensselaer at RIT at 7pm
  • Saturday, January 14: Rensselaer at Union at 7pm
  • Saturday, January 28: Rensselaer vs. Clarkson at 7pm
  • Saturday, February 4: Rensselaer vs. Colgate at 7pm (Big Red Freakout!)
  • Friday, February 24: Rensselaer at Colgate at 7pm

For the home games, Tim Heiman ’10 will handle play-by-play duties, while Kevin Broad ’07, a former Engineers captain and volunteer assistant coach, will provide color commentary.

In addition to the live broadcasts, replay times will be scheduled for each game and all games will be archived on Time Warner Sports On Demand (Channel 1003), accessible to all Time Warner Cable Digital Cable customers.  For more information on Time Warner Cable Sports please visitwww.twcablesports.com.
